Description

Shore Educational Collaborative is currently looking for a full time Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team, dividing your time between Shore’s adult day programs in both Chelsea and Woburn, MA.  Duties include providing positive behavior support services and staff training/professional development to Shore adult participants with a range of disabilities.  Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in special education, psychology, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university.  Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board is required.  Experience in developing and implementing positive behavioral support plans with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities using the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Chelsea and Woburn Program Directors and Individuals’ Interdisciplinary Teams
  • Conduct descriptive behavior assessments (including FBAs) and interpret the results of those assessments
  • Design effective behavior analytic interventions for individuals
  • Develop data collection systems
  • Develop and supervise implementation of behavior plans
  • Design and oversee interventions that are consistent with the dimensions of applied behavior analysis
  • Identify the need for program or data collection systems revisions or termination; make revisions as appropriate
  • Teach staff to carry out interventions
  • Ensure that behavior data and graphs are prepared
  • Supervise, monitor and/or assist individuals in crisis
  • Represent the programs at ISP and Day Hab meetings, program room meetings, case conferences, trainings and other meetings as required.
  • Receive initial and annual recertification as a trainer of Safety Care© Crisis Prevention curriculum
  • Coordinate and provide regular behavior and crisis management training to new staff throughout the year and to veteran staff as needed.
  • Participate fully in any and all physical requirements of the position, i.e. implementing routine behavioral interventions as well as crisis intervention, lifting and transferring individuals, etc.
  • Generate and distribute consultation notes
  • Develop and implement social skills groups
  • Develop behavior development goals & objectives and  guide ongoing implementation of teaching procedures as part of Day Habilitation service.
  • Serve on Shore’s Human Rights Committee which meets quarterly throughout the year.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Positive Behavior Support systems, and serve on Shore’s PBS Committee.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Director of Adult Services

Qualifications:

  • BCBA Certification
  • Maintain renewal and recertification of BCBA standards
  • 3 years experience with developmentally disabled students who exhibit challenging behaviors as well as students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and those who are emotionally impaired
  • Familiarity with behavior modification regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel between Shore programs
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

This position participates in the Massachusetts State Retirement System's pension plan.
